About the Venue
A Private Ridgeline,
Secluded Ridge started as a mountain retreat — a short-term rental called the Mountain House, set high on a private ridge in the Western North Carolina foothills of Burke County, with the kind of views that make you stop talking and just look.
It didn't take long to realize the setting was too special to keep to ourselves. Couples kept asking. The view does that to people. So we made it official: a wedding venue that doesn't try to be a wedding venue — no ballrooms, no barn, no production. Just the mountain, and your moment on it.
We believe weddings don't need to be complicated to be meaningful. Some of the most profound ones fit on a ridgeline with 10 people and no agenda beyond each other.

After the ceremony, guests move to a designated area on the property for a relaxed reception. Casual, warm, and still surrounded by the mountain setting.
The existing STR property sits on the same land. For Stay + Wed couples, the house serves as a getting-ready space, overnight retreat, and the morning-after view.
About 20 minutes from downtown Morganton with restaurants, lodging, and vendors. Asheville is roughly 60 minutes west and Charlotte is about 90 minutes east — making us a natural fit for couples and guests traveling from either side of Western North Carolina. The Blue Ridge Parkway and area hiking are close by.
There's no commercial kitchen, no built-in catering, no barn, no event hall. We intentionally keep the footprint small — the view is the venue.
